Stanford Meyer Green
Project Location: Stanford, CA
Client: Stanford University
Description:
The 2.45-acre open space Meyer Green is a landscape bowl with curving walkways and a gently sloped lawn area around a circle of paved colored concrete and stone pavers. Wooden benches line the upper walkway. Visitors will also find picnic tables scattered around the upper level. Trees transplanted from other areas of the campus as well as several large eucalyptus and cedar trees protected during construction surround the green. The space can be reserved for events.
Meyer Green is the site of the former Meyer Library. With the demolition of the old library and construction of an open space Stanford has restored one of the original pathways of the campus along Escondido.
